INTERVENTION. European Journal of Economics and Economic Policies

INTERVENTION is a peer-reviewed journal which serves as a forum for studies in macroeconomic theory, economic institutions and economic policies. It is comprised of several sections which reflect its aim. The section "Artikel | Articles" features contributions which are subjected to a referee procedure (double-blind peer review). We welcome the submission of articles (for links see also hints for submission). The section "Forum" features observations and comments on current economic topics and developments. These papers will be solicited by the editors, frequently at short notice just in time for publication, and will not be subjected to a peer review.

Current issue

We are happy to present issue 1-2009. Please accept our apologies for distributing later than usual. This issue has a first special focus on »Global imbalances« in the Forum section. Two contributions by Dorothee Bohle and Sebastian Dullien analyze the economic problems of Eastern European Economies, comparing Hungary and Latvia, and deal with divergences in the Euro area, respectively. Hansjörg Herr then reflects on the export-led Chinese growth strategy, the resulting current account surplus and the consequences for global economic imbalances, before Dimitri B. Papadimitriou examines the US current account deficit and the strategic perspectives of correcting global economic imbalances.

The second special focus in this issue is comprised of three contributions in the section Articles, dealing with monetary policy, more precisely with the topic »Inflation targeting: Is there a credible alternative?«. We would like to thank our guest editors Giuseppe Fontana, Mark Hayes und Jonathan Perraton for their support. You will find abstracts of all refereed articles and a downloadable file which contains editorial and contents.
