INTERVENTION. European Journal of Economics and Economic Policies

INTERVENTION is a peer-reviewed journal which serves as a forum for studies in macroeconomic theory, economic institutions and economic policies. It is comprised of several sections which reflect its aim. The section "Artikel | Articles" features contributions which are subjected to a referee procedure (double-blind peer review). We welcome the submission of articles (for links see also hints for submission). The section "Forum" features observations and comments on current economic topics and developments. These papers will be solicited by the editors, frequently at short notice just in time for publication, and will not be subjected to a peer review.

You can contact the managing editors via e-mail: managing_editors@journal-intervention.org.

Individual articles can be obtained via the homepage of Metropolis, our publisher.

Current issue

Issue 2-2009 has just been published. Core issues this time are the current financial and economic crisis as well as the possibility of a change of paradigm in economic theory.

Nearly all contributions to this issue deal with the current financial and economic crisis and its effects – in one way or another. A Special Symposium in the Forum section is also dedicated to causes of the crisis and economic policy recommendations aiming at preventing or moderating further financial market crises. The symposium has originated from a plenary discussion at the 2nd International Summer School of the Research Network Macroeconomics and Macroeconomic Policies (FMM) in August 2009 and comprises contributions by Philip Arestis, Robert Blecker, Marica Frangakis and Marc Lavoie.

The present crisis poses new challenges for macroeconomic theory, too; especially for mainstream economics. Both the emergence and the severeness of the crisis are difficult to explain within the orthodox framework of long-run self-stabilising markets. Therefore, with the Special Issue in the Article section we would like to contribute to the debate on the »Current relevance and perspectives of Keynesian Economics«.

You will find abstracts of all refereed articles and a downloadable file which contains editorial and contents. All refereed articles and forum contributions are now easily available via PDF-download from the homepage of Metropolis. More...
